Grosse: Long Island can benefit from major lending bill

If you were to ask Long Islanders their opinions of Congress, chances are their responses would echo what is heard throughout the country: There is too much dysfunction, too much partisanship and not enough results. And, our lives have not been made better for it.
But despite some headline-making legislative battles, there is hope.
Congress now stands poised to provide the people they serve with greater access to affordable housing options through the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act (S.2155), which passed in the Senate in March and is presently before the House of Representatives.
