Helping Missouri’s Community Lenders Better Serve Consumers

Hard-working Missourians deserve more financial options and credit unions, and community banks are key to having those choices. This is true throughout mid-Missouri, including our small towns and rural communities. There is a solution at hand that will tackle regulatory burdens threatening our hometown options while still maintaining important consumer protections.

In a time of extreme partisan politics, the U.S. Senate came together and passed S.2155, the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act. Sens. Claire McCaskill and Roy Blunt co-sponsored the bill and joined with 65 other Republicans and Democrats to stop federal regulators from treating Main Street lenders like Wall Street banks.
